Parallel to his photography career, he was a musician learning timing, energy, anticipation, and how to feel a room before it reacts. Music, like photography, the most powerful moments happen in the spaces between the obvious ones.
That instinct carried into four years working in radio and live events, where he learned production, stage presence, crowd psychology, and how to execute under pressure. Weddings move fast. So do live broadcasts. There are no retakes. You either anticipate the moment or you miss it.
But creativity alone wasn’t enough.
He went on to earn my MBA from Pepperdine University, where he sharpened the business, leadership, and strategic thinking behind the artistry. Photography is emotional, but it is also logistical, operational, and experience-driven. His education allowed him to build a refined client journey from inquiry to album delivery.
Having photographed over 500 weddings, domestically and internationally, Ivan has built a reputation not just for beautiful imagery, but for leadership, calm energy, and an experience that feels seamless from start to finish.
